Career

The majority of our graduates enter the Scottish Teacher Induction Scheme (TIS), which guarantees you employment for one year as a newly qualified teacher in a Scottish Local Authority school. Your teaching degree will also qualify you to enter into a wide variety of other professional roles, such as corporate training and development, museum and leisure education, educational psychology, translation or media. The confidence, communication and professional skills developed over a teaching degree, are transferable into other careers such as the media, PR and training roles. Alternatively, you may choose to continue your education with a postgraduate degree or undertake doctoral research, leading to the award of a PhD.
